PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a macromolecular actuator element whose displacement is large, by causing an ion exchange resin formation to adsorb a metal complex in an aqueous solution and reducing it, performing cleaning after depositing metal on the surface, and forming a metal electrode. SOLUTION: To obtain this macromolecular actuator 1, a metal electrode is formed on the surface of an ion exchange resin formation or inside it, by repeating the processes of causing the ion exchange resin formation to adsorb a metal complex in an aqueous solution and reducing the metal complex with a reducing agent, and performing cleaning with a washing after depositing metal on the surface. As the result, the contact area of the ion exchange resin formation with the metal electrode increases, and the active sites of the electrode increase, and ions which transfer to the electrode increase also. And if a potential difference is produced between the surfaces of the ion exchange resin formation in a mutually insulated state, 1 ions 6 move to the cathode side, and water molecules transfer in the films and the quantity of water on the anode side differs from that on the cathode side, so the ion exchange resin formation bends. Consequently, it becomes possible to obtain a macromolecular actuator quick in response and large in displacement. |
