Mould for producing a moulded body from an elastomeric foam

A process and a mould for producing moulded bodies from an elastomeric material are described; in this an amount of a starting material for the elastic foam completely filling the mould cavity of the mould is introduced in a flowable state into the mould cavity; before solidification of the starting material the volume of the mould cavity is at least partly somewhat reduced, causing a compression of the material at the corresponding points. A moulded body having integral character, at least in places, is thus obtained; the corresponding regions have a relatively high density and an improved abrasion resistance.
