PURPOSE:To operate the captioned cutting machine with high efficiency by profitably employing power consumed by an induction motor to drive a cutting rotator for detecting a switching point of a feed speed of the cutting rotator. CONSTITUTION:Conveyed a workpiece into a cut point thereof, a cutting rotator is lowered at a high speed. Then, a device 3 measures power consumed by an electric motor, and with the consumed power reached to a power preset value, the value is decided to be a start point of cutting, and thereby a lowering speed of the rotator is switched to the optimum one for the cutting. In succession, with the power measured by the device 3 dropped less than the preset power, it is decided that the cutting is complete, and thereby the lowering of the cutting rotator is stopped, raised at a high speed, and again stopped at a prescribed position. With the arrangement described above, completion of the cutting can be accurately grasped and thereby elevation of the rotator can be speeded up for improving cutting efficiency. |
