摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent the interference between an initial hole machining body section and a wire guide in an initial hole machining device which is arranged near to the wire guide, by providing such as arrangement that an NC machine detects the siding of the machining body section, and then the wire guide is traversed. CONSTITUTION:An initial hole machining body section 50 reaches its machining position so that a limit switch 72 delivers an ON signal to an NC machine 22, the NC machine 22 energizes an electrode circuit, and initiates the supply of machining liquid, electric discharge power, etc. At this time electric discharge machining by an electrode 30 is rested. Next, when a limit switch 72 is turned on after the machining of an initial hole is completed, the NC device 22 negates the instruction as to the initial hole machining. Accordingly, the rotation of a hollow rod-like electrode 58 and the supply of machining liquid and electric discharge power are rested. Further, when the initial hole machining body section 50 reaches its siding position so that a limit switch is turned on, the NC machine 22 delivers an instruction signal to a traversing mechanism 26 which allows an upper wire guide 28 to traverse.
