PURPOSE:To obtain a metallic mold pair having good mating accuracy of both molds by adhering the kneaded plastic material composed of sinterable metallic powder and synthetic resin binder to a blank material for one metallic mold then sintering the metallic powder to obtain a mold and manufacturing similarly the other metallic mold using such mold as a plunger pattern. CONSTITUTION:The kneaded material of sinterable metallic powder (e.g; self- fluxing Ni alloy powder + ground Mo powder) and synthetic resin binder is heated to evaporate the moisture in the binder. The kneaded material is then passed plural times through a roll machine under heating to obtain a sheet- shaped plastic material P. The material P is adhered to the base surface 4 of a blank material 20 for a punch to form roughly a work forming part 2a and thereafter the material P is heated up to the evaporating temp. of the org. solvent and is half cured. The half cured material P is ground to finish the same to the shape and thickness of the part 2a. The material 20 is heated to a high temp. in a vacuum sintering furnace 7 to sinter the metallic powder, by which a male mold 2 is obtd. The other mold, i.e., a female mold 3 is made by the similar operation using the mold 2 as a plunger pattern and the intended metallic mold pair together with said mold 2 is obtd.
