PURPOSE:To prevent color blurring by correcting deviation of reading position between plural line sensors automatically. CONSTITUTION:After starting scanning of an original, an error bit value obtained by scanning of a correcting board is preset from a latch 112 to an error bit adjusting counter 113 by a horizontal synchronizing signal HSYNC. The counter 113 starts counting by inputting of an effective synchronizing signal VDEN, outputs a carry signal RC, and sets a flip-flop 117. The flip-flop 117 is reset by the horizontal synchronizing signal HSYNC. As Q output of the flip-flop 117 makes an AND gate on state, CCD clock CLK is outputted from the time of outputting of the carry signal RC. Accordingly, the foremost picture element of CCD14 is delayed by the clock and outputted, and the reading position is corrected.
