PURPOSE:To obtain the titled slurry excellent in dispersion of TiO2, by mixing an aqueous slurry containing TiO2 subjected to a specified treatment with an aqueous slurry containing epsilon-caprolactam and an aqueous solution of hexamethylenediammonium adipate. CONSTITUTION:A combined solution is obtained by mixing an aqueous slurry containing 5-30wt% TiO2, particle diameter <=about 5mum, which is finely preground and classified and contains at least one of compounds of Al, Si, Zn, and a like metal on its surface with an aqueous epsilon-caprolactam solution (concentration of 75-95wt%) containing 0.5wt% or above, based on TiO2, epsilon-caprolactam. Next, an aqueous solution containing 40-60wt% hexamethylene-diammonium adipate (oligomer) obtained by a salt formation reaction between equimolar amounts of hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid is mixed with said combined solution in an amount of 0.05-1wt% (in terms of the amount of TiO2).
