PURPOSE:A thermosetting resin which can retain its inherent optical transparency and show excellent impact resistance, prepred by copolymerizing diethylene glycol bis(allyl carbonate) with a specified polyallyl compound. CONSTITUTION:A thermosetting resin prepared by copolymerizing (A) diethylene glycol bis(allyl carbonate) with 0.5-30wt% (B) polyalkylene-polyol polyallyl carbonate in which the MW of the polyalkylene-polyol moiety is 150 or above. Although a polymer comprising component A is widely used for, especially, spectacle lenses because of its excellent optical transparency and high surface hardness, it is somewhat lacking in impact resistance. By the copolymerization of component B with component A, the impact resistance can be improved.
