PURPOSE:To prevent malfunction of a recording disk reproducing device, by providing a case engaging means which nearly fixes the main body of a case to the main body of the reproducing device and a detecting means which detects that the case main body is nearly fixed by the case engaging means. CONSTITUTION:A recording disk reproducing device is equipped with an engaging member 62 acting as a case engaging means which nearly fixes a disk case to the main body of the reproducing device and a microswitch 200 which detects that the case main body is nearly fixed by the case engaging member 62. The microswitch 200 detects the fixed condition of the case by means of the case engaging means 62 and a lamp which is an informing means of the detected condition is provided at the front face of the main body. Therefore, users can easily understand the case engaging condition through the lamp, and thus, the malfunction can be prevented.
