An indanyl derivative of the formula <IMAGE> wherein R1 and R2 are identical or different, and each is hydrogen, fluorine or chlorine R3 is hydrogen of phenyl R4 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1-6 carbon atoms, and R5 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1-6 carbon atoms, cyclohexyl or phenyl with the proviso that at least one of the substituents R3, R4, and R5 is different from hydrogen, or physiologically acceptable salts thereof with an acid, have valuable pharmacological properties.
