NEW MATERIAL:A 2-aminothiazole derivative (syn isomer) expressed by formula I (R<1> is lower alkyl). EXAMPLE:2-(2-Aminothiazole-4-yl)-2-(syn)-methoxyiminoacetamide. USE:An intermediate for preparing cephalosporin (syn isomer) which is an antimicrobial agent. PREPARATION:For example, a compound expressed by formula II is reacted with a nitrosating agent to give a compound expressed by formula III, which is then alkylated to afford a compound expressed by formula IV. The resultant compound expressed by formula IV is then halogenated to give a compound expressed by formula V, which is finally cyclized with thiourea to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
