PURPOSE:To make it possible to reduce the size of a planetary gear device, by effecting the coupling between a flange member supporting a brake drum and a sun gear within a space section formed between the carrier of planetary gears and the sun gear so that the length of the main shaft is made short. CONSTITUTION:A sun gear 212 in a planetary gear device is coupled to a brake drum 258 through a flange member 260. Meanwhile a carrier 222 for planetary gears 216, 218 on the clutch device 250 side has a narrow width so that a radial gap may be formed between itself and the sun gear 212 in the center section. Accordingly, the coupling between the sun gear 212 and the flange member may be made with the use of the space between the front end 222a of the carrier and the sun gear 212, and therefore, it is unnecessary to prolong the length of the shaft in order to couple the sun gear with the flange member.
