PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as an anti-inflammatory drug, an inhibitor of blood platelet aggregation, a hypotensor, a cardiac, etc. industrially advantageously, by reacting N<6>-n-butyl-8-mercapto-adenosine-3', 5'-cyclic phosphoric acid(salt) with a benzyl halide. CONSTITUTION:(A) An N<6>-n-butyl-8-mercapto-adenosine-3' 5'-cyclic phosphotric acid shown by the formula I (A<+> is H<+>, alkali metal ion, ammonium ion, or organic ammonium ion) or its salt is reacted with (B) a benzyl halide preferably in a solvent (e.g., water, alcohol, ether, amide, etc.) in the presence of a basic substance such as NaOH, etc. at>=7pH, to give the aimed compound shown by the formula II.
