PURPOSE:To obtain an optical filter which is suitable for a display device provided with many light emitting sources and provides a high contrast image by incorporating a light diffusing material and coloring agents which permit the selective transmission of emission wavelengths into a resin sheet. CONSTITUTION:The light diffusing material (e.g.; pulverous aluminum hydroxide powder, pulverous magnesium hydroxide powder) and the coloring agents of orange, yellow and blue which permit the selective transmission of the emission wavelengths are added to a plastic material such as PVA or PE and are kneaded. The mixture is then worked to a sheet shape, by which the intended optical filter is obtd. The resulted optical filter is disposed to the front face of the light emitting sources of the device which is arranged with many pieces of the light emitting sources and makes display by the flickering of the light emitting sources and/or the change of the luminance, by which the sharp display image having the excellent contrast, color tone, etc. is obtd.
