PURPOSE:To carry out the freeze storage of fish and the preparation of dried vegetables and agar, by utilizing a cold district such as Arctic or Antarctic zone. CONSTITUTION:A large-sized fishing vessel (a mother vessel of about >=20,000 ton) is placed on a fishing ground. The fishes caught by a small-sized fishing boat are transshipped to the mother vessel until the amount of the fish reaches a prescribed level, when the fishes are transported to a cold district such as Arctic or Antarctic zone, landed, and stored in frozen state. The fishes transported to the storage site by a preceding mother vessel are loaded to the emptied mother vessel and are transported to Japanese fishery harbor or fish market. The preparation of dried vegetables or agar, etc., for which freezing at about -20 deg.C is necessary, can be carried out easily in the above cold district.
