PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool and a cutting method capable of achieving highly accurate machining of a workpiece and shortening machining time.SOLUTION: A machine tool includes: a main shaft 7 for holding and rotating a workpiece W; a holder 25 for holding a first cutting tool T1 and a second cutting tool T2 having linear cutting blades H1 and H2 for cutting the workpiece W; and moving devices (M1, M2, and M3) for moving the first cutting tool T1 and the second cutting tool T2 in moving directions including at least a Z-direction and a Y-direction relatively to the workpiece W. The holder 25 arranges and holds the first cutting tool T1 and the second cutting tool T2 along the moving directions so that the linear cutting blades H1 and H2 are parallel to each other by inclining the direction of each linear cutting blade H1 and H2 by a prescribed angle with respect to the Z-direction viewed from an X-direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
