PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of slippage in printing position by returning a printing head to a home position prior to the resumption of printing following ribbon replacement when a ribbon is replaced under a condition where a power supply for printer is ON. CONSTITUTION:A cover 5 is opened by an operator (a) for replacement of a ribbon 2 and a ribbon cassette 4 as a power supply for a printer (b) is ON. After this process, the ribbon 2 and ribbon cassette 4 are replaced by a new ribbon 2 and a new ribbon cassette 4, and then the cover 5 is closed. Next, it is controlled so that the printer (b) may automatically return a printing head 1 to a home position 3 prior to the resumption of printing. Thus an effect to prevent slippage in printing position is given by returning the printing head to the home position after ribbon replacement. |
