PURPOSE:To perfectly seal a rivet hole by strongly pressing a rivet having seal material previously attached thereto against rivet hole punched out in the steel material from the side of sheet metal and caulking the rivet after punching out sheet metal by the tip of the rivet. CONSTITUTION:After a spherical projection 23 on the top of caulking axis 15 is matched to a rivet hole 22 in steel material (d), the steel material (d) and sheet metal (e) are put down into the direction of rivet (f). Then, the sheet metal (e) is pressed through the steel material (d), the rivet (f) punches out the sheet metal (e), and the caulking axis 15 moves back upward pushed by the rivet (f). However, as a pressurizing device itself 3 progresses, the caulking axis 15 is pushed downward, the rivet (f) is pressed by the spherical projection 23 and is caulked and transformed. In this time, since sealing material P previously attached to the rivet (f) is settled between rivet tip (f') and the sheet metal (e), punched out hole in the sheet metal (e) is capable of being perfectly sealed.
