PURPOSE:To provide an aqueous pigment dispersion excellent in dispersibility and dispersion stability, by incorporating a water soluble copolymer contg. a fluoroalkyl group-contg. (meth)acrylic monomer, alpha,beta-ethylenically unsatd. nitrogen monomer, and ethylenically unsatd. carboxylic acid, as a dispersant. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous pigment dispersion comprising a pigment, an aqueous medium and, as a dispersant, a water-soluble polymer prepared by copolymerizing 1-97.5pts.wt. fluoroalkyl group-contg. (meth)acrylic monomer, 2-97pts.wt. (meth)acrylic monomer modified with a compd. selected from among a fatty acid, lactone, oxyacid condensate, and mono- or polyalkylene glycol and monoether derivative thereof, 0.5-20pts.wt. ethylenically unsatd. carboxylic acid, and 0-91pts.wt. other alpha,beta-ethylenically unsatd. monomer.
