PURPOSE:To halve a channel command area and to improve the utilizing efficiency of a main memory by designating a packet header buffer and a packet data buffer to the inside of a channel command. CONSTITUTION:A command type is described at the head of a channel command to designate the kind of command. Then buffer address of the packet header is described to designate a head address of a packet header buffer. Further, the address of the packet data buffer is described to designate the head address of the packet data buffer. Moreover, plural packet data buffers are provided to designate the length (character number) of each data. Thus, one channel command is provided with the packet header and the packet data to halve the size of the channel command area, avoid waste idleness of the buffer and save the capacity of the main memory.
