PURPOSE:To suppress the erroneous operation by permitting the confirmation of a turning tool and a rotary tool and confirmation of the existence of a tool by installing a pressure switch as a tool-kind discriminating means and an approach switch as tool-existence judging means. CONSTITUTION:A swing head 1 carries-out working by a turning tool or a rotary tool, and dividing-positions the installation part A of the main shafts 4 of these tools in two directions: horizontal and vertical. A tool-kind discriminating means is equipped with a pressure switch for detecting the installation of the turning tool or the rotary tool onto the installation part A through the variation of the air pressure. A tool-existence detecting means is installed onto a saddle side and equipped with an approach switch 61 for detecting the existence of the turning tool or the rotary tool in the installation part A by the approach of a clamp rod 17. The installation of the turning tool or the rotary tool onto the installation part A is detected by the pressure switch, and the existence of the turning tool or the rotary tool into the installation part A is detected by the approach switch 61.
