PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound capable of giving water-insoluble crosslinked formed body through readily crosslinking reaction by heating, consisting of specific two sorts of units, by radical copolymerization, in a solution state, between specific compound and N-methylol acrylamide in a specified proportion. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound constituted by two sorts of units, i.e., those of formula III and formula IV, can be obtained by radical copolymerization, in a solvent such as water or chloroform, between (A) a compound of formula I (R1 is methyl or ethyl) and (B) N-methylol acrylamide of formula II in such amounts as to be <=0.6mol per mol of the component (A) when R1 is methyl, and <=1.2mol when R1 is ethyl. USE:Sunlight protector such as greenhouse, toys, etc.
