PURPOSE:To obtain an immune adsorbent having extremely high antibody bonding ability, by reducing an S-S bond at the hinge part of an antibody, and crosslinking an SH grop of the prepared antibody and a bonded group of a carrier containing the bonded group with a compound containing a maleimide group, etc. CONSTITUTION:An S-S bond at the hinge part of an antibody is reduced, and the prepared SH group of the antibody containing the SH group is crosslinked with a bonded group of a carrier containing the bonded group to give an immune absorbent. When the bonded group of the carrier is a SH group, a compound [e.g., N,N'-(1,2-phenylene-bismaleimide)] containing >=2 maleimide groups in one molecule is used, and when the bonded group is amino group, imino group, hydrazino group or primary - tertiary amine, a compound(e.g., N-succinimidyl-N-maleimide acetate) containing both a maleimide group and a succinimide ester group in one molecule is used.
