PURPOSE:To provide a metal powder pigment having improved adhesion to coating resins, cohesion stability, peeling resistance and dielectric strength of a coating film, prepared by treating the metal powder pigment with a processing agent consisting of a combination of a specified org. titanate and an amino group-contg. coupling agent. CONSTITUTION:The metal powder pigment is prepared by kneading (A) 100pts. wt. metal powder pigment consisting of aluminum, zinc, nickel, etc., (B) 0.1-5 pts.wt. org. titanate of the formula (where R is 1-8C alkyl) [e.g. dimethoxybis(triethanolaminato)titanium] and (C) 0.1-1pt.wt. coupling agent having at least one amino group [e.g. N-beta(aminoethyl)gamma-aminopropyl trialkoxysilane and isopropyl trianthranyl titanate] in an organic solvent such as methyl alcohol or methyl cellosolve pref. in the presence of water in a ribbon mixer, kneader, etc.
