PURPOSE:To eliminate the misrecognition of the form of a written character due to the holding posture of a writing tool, by setting a pair of elastic members attached with distortion gauges at positions having shifts at both sides by an approximately equal angle centering on a vertical line passing through a writing shaft. CONSTITUTION:At a writing type input part,the circumferential displacement of a writing shaft 46 which is caused by a writing action with contact secured between a writing surface and the tip (writing chip 46a) of the shaft 46 is detected by two distortion gauges 50t and 50s in the directions of T and S axes via plate springs 52 and 52. When a holding case is held in a correct posture so that a clip part is set right above, the spring 52 attached with the gauge 50t and the other spring 52 attached with the gauge 50s are shifted at both sides by an equal angle (45 deg.) centering on a vertical line (Y axis line) passing through the shaft 46.
