PURPOSE:To improve a quenching ratio by providing shields made of cut grooves between mutually adjacent piezoelectric elements of an optical deflecting medium. CONSTITUTION:The cut grooves 31-35 are formed in the optical deflecting medium 1 by an inner peripheral blade cutting machine, etc. The grooves 31-35 function to stop the propagation of ultrasonic wave energy, so the grooves 31-35 are formed between mutually adjacent transducing elements adhered to the surface of the medium 1 to prevent the ultrasonic wave energy from propagating to other piezoelectric transducer parts.
