PURPOSE:To take a photograph with stable brightness while prolonging the life of the light source of a liquid-crystal display device by turning on the light source simultaneously with the start of exposure, and starting the image display of the liquid-crystal display device when the brightness of the light source becomes stable. CONSTITUTION:A photographic control circuit 9 recognizes the operation of an exposure switch 12 from an exposure start signal and closes a switch 11 to start the lighting of the light source 7 and the white display driving of a display cell 6A for photometry. Then, the photographic control circuit 9 inputs the brightness of the display cell 6A for photometry by the lighting of the light source 7 by the intervention of an electric signal passed through a photosensor 11, and discriminates that the brightness is stable within a specific level range continuously fora specific time to supply a driving signal for image display to a liquid-crystal module at the timing of a brightness stable signal when said discrimination is made, thereby displaying an image at this timing. Then, the switch 11 is turned off at the end of exposure to turn off the light source.
