PURPOSE:To reduce the number of times of button operation by the user for redialing by constituting the device that a pause is inserted automatically when a signal is dialed from a pBx extension to an external line or a private line. CONSTITUTION:A storage means 3 stores an automatic pause number based on the command of a registration start means 2. A pause time setting means 4 stores a required pause time after the said command is given. When an opposite party is busy and a redial command is given, the 1st digit of the opposite telephone number given just before from a telephone number storage section 1 is read. Further, a number requiring the insertion of a pause is read from a registration number storage section 3. A coincidence detection means 5 compares the two read numbers and when they are coincident, a coincidence signal is outputted. A pause insertion means 6 receives a coincidence signal rom the coincidence detecting means 5 and operated, and the transmission of dial tone of the next number is stopped for a time stored in the pause time setting means 4.
