PURPOSE:To increase adhesive strength and durability together with prevention of decoloration and degradation in the bonded flanges in wooden cable reels in the caption by using a water-resistant, synthetic resin adhesive having a specific pH value and cured at room temperature below a specific level of temperature. CONSTITUTION:A wooden cable reel has flanges each composed of a plurality of sawed plates having a width B and thickness D. These plates are bonded together with a water-resistant, synthetic resin adhesive with a pH value of 5.5-7.5 and which is cured at room temperature below 40 deg.C, so that they can be adhered tightly to the wooden surface of the reel body, without being affected at all by the lye contained in the plates. Furthermore, the flanges thus bonded can retain original strong adhesion and increased water resistance, without causing flaking, despite many rollings during use. Discoloration and degradation in the flange material can also be prevented against the reaction of the lye with the adhesive with the aforesaid specific pH value. |
