摘要

PURPOSE:To provide an isotropic magnetic characteristic and to make possible the reduction of reproduced output modulation by providing vertical directivity to a horizontally magnetizable film layer. CONSTITUTION:Vertical directivity is provided to the horizontally magnetizable film layer by a means for forming the granular structure in a vertical direction by temp. control, etc. in the case of forming said film layer by sputtering. The isotropic magnetic characteristic is thus obtd. within the film plane and the reproduced output modulation in a magnetic disk, etc. is decreased. Initial magnetic permeability mui in the direction X of of difficult magnetization and has an extremely large difference from the initial magnetic permeability mui in the direction Y of easy magnetization in the region where the vertical anisotropic magnetic field Hk is smaller than 20 (Oe). The initial magnetic permeability mui in the direction X and the direction Y is approximately equal when the magnetic field Hk is made >=20 (Oe). The magnetic characteristic in the magnetic recording plane is therefore made isotropic and the modulation of the reproduced output is made extremely small.
