PURPOSE:To allow fixed speed running through the actual car speed that is equal to stored car speed even on a downhill road by applying brake control operated by the output of a controller. CONSTITUTION:The output coming from a car speed sensor 1 and a command switch 2 is input to a microcomputer 6 in a controller 3. In addition, a throttle sensor 31 is used to sense the opening and closing of a throttle valve 19 and the output of the sensor 31 is input to the microcomputer 6 through an interface 32 in the controller 3. Besides, a switching section 33 for an exhaust brake is located in the controller 3 and is used to on-off control an exhaust brake solenoid 34 in accordance with the output coming from the microcomputer 6. Also, if the actual car speed exceeds a preset value as compared with stored car speed, the operation of the switching section 33 sets the solenoid 34 to ON not so as to exceed the preset value.
