PURPOSE:To enable the adjusting part of a cutting tool to be held by a tool holder at the end of a tool adjusting device without fail, when the projected amount of a cutting tool is regulated from the outer side of a boring quill. CONSTITUTION:When three claws 16 of a tool adjusting device 1 firmly grasp a regulating part 23, a rotating shaft 4 is rotated to a predetermined direction as much as a predetermined angle by a stepping motor 3, so that the regulating part 23 is rotated to adjust the projected amount of a cutting tool 22. The rotated amount of a rotating shaft 4 may be determined from weaking amount of a cutting tool 22 as publicized, or a fixed amount of adjusting at a time can be determined previously to the cutting tool 22. It is to be adjusted by detecting the wearing amount of a tool, respectively. |
