PURPOSE:To reliably convey a beltlike material, by a method wherein a feed claw, which has a claw tip part being capable of making slide contact with the upper surface of the beltlike material and is locked directly to the rear end parts of projections, is longitudinally reciprocated by a stroke slightly longer than the given feed distance of the beltlike material. CONSTITUTION:Provided a beltlike cloth material A is conveyed by 2 pitches each of projections or eyes B, a feed claw 8 is reciprocated by a stroke slightly longer than the convey distance of the eyes. Swing of a swing lever 27 causes longitudinal reciprocation of a support axle 4, a feed claw 8 is moved, and the beltlike cloth material A is conveyed forward by a distance equal to 2 pitches of the eyes B with the aid of a claw tip part 8a. In which case, the claw tip part 8a slides over the upper surface of the beltlike cloth material A, and is forced into contact with the rear end surfaces of the eyes B to convey the beltlike cloth material A. Further, a press roller 21 presses the cloth material A in a non-rotation state, and this enables reliable conveyance of the cloth material without production of wrinkle. |
