PURPOSE:Asymmetric hydrolysis of phenylglycine amide is carried out in the presence of a culture mixture of a specific microorganism or its treated product and optically resolved D(-) phenylglycine amide is subjected to acid decomposi tion to give the title derivative. CONSTITUTION:Asymmetric hydrolysis of DL-phenylglycine amide of formula I (R1 is H, hdroxyl, methoxy; R2 is H, Cl, methoxy, methansulfonylamino) is carried out in the presence of a culture mixture of a microorganism in Azotobacter, Thiobacillus or Necromonas or its treated product. D(-) phenylglycine amide and L(+) phenylglycine are collected separately and the D(-)phenylglycine amide is subjected to acid decomposition to give (-) phenylglycine derivative of formula II. |
