PURPOSE:To obtain an electrically conductive fibrous alkali metal titanate having excellent reinforcing effect, by adding one or more compounds of the metals selected from Sn, In, Sb, Nb, W and Mo in the form of solution to an aqueous dispersion of fibrous alkali metal titanate, and separating and heat- treating the insoluble component. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous dispersion of a fibrous alkali metal titanate having an apparent concentration of 0.1-30wt% is prepared beforehand, and is added with one or more compounds of metals selected from Sn, In, Sb, Nb, W and Mo, especially metal chlorides, in the form of solution. The amount of the metal compound is <=300pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the fibrous potassium titanate. The solid component of the slurry mixture is separated, washed with water, and dried to obtain the objective electrically conductive fibrous alkali metal titanate.
