PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motorcycle tire including a tread reinforcement layer which can achieve both of durability and operation stability, and a method for manufacturing the tire.SOLUTION: A tread reinforcement layer 7 includes a crown reinforcement part 7C which is provided on a tread crown part 2C including a tire equator C, and a pair of shoulder reinforcement parts 7S which are provided on tread shoulder parts 2S on both outer sides of the crown reinforcement part. The crown reinforcement part 7C is formed in such a manner that a belt-like ply 9 is wound at an angle of five degrees or less with respect to a tire circumferential direction. Each shoulder reinforcement part 7S is formed into a mesh having a substantially rhombus-shaped space part 12 surrounded by a first ramp 9a and a second ramp 9b in such a manner that the belt-like ply 9 is wound in a zigzag form including the first ramp 9a on which the belt-like ply is wound while being inclined in a first direction and the second ramp 9b on which the belt-like ply is wound while being inclined in a second direction opposite to the first direction, and are so wound that side edges 9S of the belt-like ply 9 do not contact each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
