摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber suitable for a catalyst, etc. by mixing TiO2, SiO2, Al2O3, B2O3, CaO, MgO, etc. in a prescribed mol ratio, heating the resultant mixture, melting, spinning, then reheating and eluting an acid-soluble component with an acid soln. CONSTITUTION:Material is compounded in such a proportion by mol ratio, 1.2-1.4 (TiO2+SiO2)/Al2O3+B2O3+CaO=MgO), 0.5-1 TiO2/SiO2, 1-0.6 B2O3/Al2O3 and 0.21-0.06 MgO/CaO. The resultant mixture is then melted by heating, thereafter spun and cooled rapidly to produce a TiO2-SiO2-Al2O3-B2 O3-CaO-MgO series glass fiber. This glass fiber is then reheated at 600-900 deg.C and converted into a phase split glass fiber in a state of opal or devitrification and thereafter dipped in the acid soln. to dissolve and remove the acid-soluble component, thus the titled porous glass fiber having a glass skeleton and consisting essentially of titanic acid and silicic acid is obtd.
