PURPOSE:To improve the adhesion of a magnetic coating film to a polyester film and reduce falling-off of powder from the coating in tape running, by incorporating a nitrocellulose and particular polyisocyanate simultaneously as a binder in the magnetic coating. CONSTITUTION:A nitrocellulose and 1,8-diisocyanato-4-isocyanatomethyloctane (hereinafter referred to as triisocyanate) are used simultaneously as a binder in a magnetic coating compsn. consisting mainly of a magnetic powder and a binder. Said triisocyanate is a trifunctional polyisocyanate of the formula. Common nitrocellulose prepd. by nitrating cotton linter or pulp is used as said nitrocellulose. It is desirable that said triisocyanate is used in an amt. of 2-60pts.wt. based on 100pts.wt. total binders. Pref., said nitrocellulose is used in an amt. of 5-80pts.wt. based on 100pts.wt. total binders.
