PURPOSE:To carry out the exchange of culture liquid under aseptic condition preventing the contamination with sundry germs, by controlling the actions to suck and eject a definite amount of liquid with a pipette by a pump of pipetting section, and to transport the tray table to the pipetting section, the culture section and the absorbance determining section. CONSTITUTION:The culture tray 7 containing cell and culture liquid is set on the tray table 14, held with the tray chuck 15, and put into the tray stock 18 in a CO2 incubator 22 to effect the culture of the cell. At a time inputted from a controller, the tray 7 is transferred to the position of the absorbance determination section 6 to check the pH of the culture liquid, and the pH is calculated by the controller 23. When the measured pH is out of the permissible range, the cover 16 is opened by the handler 17, only the tray 7 is transferred to the position of pipette manipulator 2, and the culture liquid is exchanged with the pipette 1 by the pump 3.
