NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I (R1 and R2 are H, halogen, lower alkyl, hydroxy, or lower alkoxy) or its acid addition salt. EXAMPLE:2-[N-(2,6-Dichorophenyl)-N-phenacylamino]-2-imidazoline. USE:A preventive and remedy for cardiac incompetence or diseases of coronary artery, or arrhythmia of heart. A hypotensive. An anti-inflammatory drug. An analgesic. PREPARATION:A 2-(2,6-dichloroanilino)-2-imidazoline shown by the formula II is reacted with a substituted phenacyl derivative shown by the formula III (X is halogen, paratoluenesulfonyloxy, etc.) to give a compound shown by the formula I.
