PURPOSE:To improve rising temperature characteristics at heat development temperatures, to shorten a development time, and to obtain excellent picture quality by controlling stepwise electric power or a voltage supplied to a feed heating body for a heat development photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:An AC power source 2 supplies electric power to the feed heating body 1 through a two-way three-terminal thyristor 3. The voltage to the heating body 1 is detected by resistances R1 and R2 and rectified by a rectifying circuit 4, and then compared by a comparator 4 with a stepwise voltage signal from a sequence 5 and a D/A converter 6. A phase control circuit 8 controls the firing angle of the thyristor 3 according to the output of a comparator 7 to control stepwise the voltage applied to the feed heating body 1.
