PURPOSE:To improve the mixing of air and unreacted fuel and raise the effect of removing nitric acid by raising the speed to supply additional air required for completing the nitric acid removal in the furnace. CONSTITUTION:Fuel 4 is supplied with the combustion air 3 from a main burner 2 to a combustion chamber 1 to be burned. Part 4a of the fuel 4 is branches as fuel to remove nitric acid and conveyed to the combustion chamber 1 through a nozzle 13 which is located above the main burner 2. In order to complete combustion of the portion which did not go through reduction reaction additional air is given a higher speed by means of a boost-up fan 6 and sent into the combustion chamber 1 from above the nozzle 13. Since the additional air 5 has thereby a higher speed through the boost-up fan 6 than when the combustion air 3 is merely sent into the combustion chamber 1 through an air preheater 8 from a positive volume blower 7, the supply speed of the additional air 5 is larger than that of the combustion air 3.
