PURPOSE:To obtain an analog-digital two-way converter with less distortion and excellent transient response by providing a switch reducing a resistance value of a resistor deciding a charging current, decreasing the charging time and shutting charging at discharge to make the discharge and charging time nearly equal. CONSTITUTION:When the output of an adaptive amplitude control ligical circuit 6 goes to '1' at t=t0, the switch 1 is closed, the switch 2 is opened for discharge to decrease momentarily a voltage at a point. The 1-bit quantized width is increased momentarily attended therewith. when an output of the circuit 6 is zero at t=t1, the switch 1 is opened and the switch 2 is closed, the charging is executed momentarily because of a small resistor 4, a voltage at a point A is increased momentarily and 1-bit quantized width is decreased momentarily. The resistors 4, 3 are adjusted so that the electric charge quantity of charge/ discharge is nearly equal and the harmonic component becomes smaller remarkably than that of a conventional converter.
