PURPOSE:To provide possibility of rapid switching with simple construction by equipping a table feeding device of a molded surface grinding machine with an arrangement in which a single changeover device performs detection of the table, switching between automatic and manual, and turning on and off the motor switch. CONSTITUTION:Drive shaft of a table moving mechanism is furnished with clutching devices 45, 57, which are engaged or disengaged freely through selection of one of the drive means by the use of a single changeover device 17. Accordingly, if the pointer of this changeover device 17 is set into the Manual position, the leftmost position is taken being worked by the pressure given by a spilling 65 of a shafting 67. That is, turning an X-axis manual handle 5 allows an X-axis driving spindle 43 to rotate in either direction with the aid of a slider 55 and a key 53 because clutching devices 45, 57 are in engagement. Therefore a wire drum 83 is driven through a pinion gear 81 and an internal cogged gear 85 to cause the table to travel in the axial direction. If the pointer is set into the Detainment position, a protrusive rotary member 79 of a cam plate 35 reduces the pressure of the slider 55 and X-axis driving spindle 43 to provided detained condition.
