PURPOSE:To set an original without shifting neither bending by providing an original setting display device where the size, the direction, and the position of the original to be set on an original platen are displayed in accordance with the copying operation mode. CONSTITUTION:When an operation switch 87 is turned on after the copying operation mode is set, a signal related to a selected light transmission hole is compared with a signal from a storage circuit 82, where sizes, directions, and positions of individual light transmission holes of a light transmission hole film 3 are stored, by an operating circuit 81 to select the direction and the extent of movement of the light transmission hole film 3. The signal related to the moving direction of the light transmission hole film 3 is inputted to a driving motor circuit 85, and a corresponding driving motor is driven, and the light transmission hole film 3 is started to move while guided by sprockets 4a and 4b and retaining rolls 34a and 34b. The number of perforations 33 of the light transmission hole film 3 which pass a sensor 7 is measured, and this value is compared with the operated extent of movement of the light transmission hole film 3 through a position detecting circuit 86, and the driving motor is stopped when they coincide with each other.
