PURPOSE:To provide for high speed operation and to obtain a device at reduced costs by arranging so that compensation signals are obtained by a shaft operation of the ROM output by a shift quantity. CONSTITUTION:Image signals from a CCD1 are converted by an A/D converter 2 into 8-bit digital signals and supplied as input data to a ROM3 and a ROM4. 7-bit address data D1 corresponding to input image data and 3-bit data D2 for shift operation are outputted from the ROM3 while 7-bit address data D4 corresponding to input image data and 3-bit data for shift operation are outputted from the ROM4. A ROM6 receives the data D2 outputted from the ROM3 and the data D4 outputted from the ROM4 for performing the shift operation to effect a shift operation on 8-bit data outputted from a ROM5. As a result, a corrected signal D6 for which correct shading correction has been performed is outputted from the ROM6 as 8-bit data.
