PURPOSE:To make data collection efficient by forming a data sending part for converting data to be collected into an optical signal having the same time series as that of reflected light obtained by optically scanning a bar code and sending the optical signal in a data transmitting machine. CONSTITUTION:The data sending part 5 formed in the data transmitting machine is constituted of a control part 6 and a light emitting element 7. The control part is constituted of a memory 61, a microprocessor 62 and a driving part 63 and the processor 62 outputs the same signal as an electric signal obtained by photoelectrically converting the scanned reflected light of a bar code on the basis of data outputted from the memory 61. Light sent from the light emitting element 7 is condensed into a photoelectric conversion element 22 by a spherical lens 21 on the basis of ON and OFF control based upon said signal and converted into an electric signal. The electric signal is amplified by an amplifier 23, converted into a digital signal by a binary-coding circuit 24 and then processed by a microprocessor 11. Thus, data collection can be attained efficiently and economically with high interchangeability and reliability by using a bar code reader on the market.
