PURPOSE:To avoid the waste of the communicating time and to suppress the communicating cost by checking the address number from the transmitting side of the facsimile and setting the capacity of the equipment having the mini mum capacity in one receiving side terminal or above as the receiving capacity. CONSTITUTION:To an exchange 9, facsimile terminals 1, 3, 5 and 7, a communicating control device 11, and an accumulating device 10 are connected. the accumulating device 10 is composed of a central processing unit 21 to control the whole of the facsimile communication and a picture memory device 23. An interface part 19 is composed of an address number checking means and a receiving capacity setting means. One address number or above issued from a transmitting side terminal is checked by an address checking means, and in case of receiving, a tone signal is generated. Out of one received address number or above, the address number having the lowest capacity is set as the receiving capacity. Matched with the address, the receiving capacity is set.
