PURPOSE:To make compact an installation and to improve cooling efficiency by feeding cooling water to a cooling water passage formed in the spacing between a cooling water guide frame provided separately from a metallic mold and the outside circumferential surface of the metallic mold thereby cooling forcibly the metallic mold with the water. CONSTITUTION:The metallic mold 10 for centrifugal casting is loaded on driving rollers 11 while the 1st cooling water guide frame 17 and the 3rd cooling water guide frame 28 are held open. The mold 10is covered by the 1st frame 17 and the 3rd frame 28 in this state. A series of the cooling water passage 22 is thereby formed between the cooling water guide face 18 of the frame 17 and the mold 10 and between the frame 28 and the mold 10. A prescribed amt. of the molten metal is poured into the mold 10 and at the same time the cooling water is fed through a water feed pipe 24 and a header 23. The efficient cooling of the molten metal is thus made possible.
