PURPOSE:To protect a disk and a detecting stylus to assure a long service life by interrupting the slide contact pressure changing operation of the detecting stylus on a recording medium during non-stationary rotational state of the recording medium to provide a constant slide contact state. CONSTITUTION:The slide contact state between the disk and the detecting stylus is changed by a coil 13 corresponding to a slide drive signal 58 of the detecting stylus 12 detecting the information signal from the disk 10, and a signal 59 discriminating the rotating state of the disk and a switching part 24 are interlocked with each other. During stationary rotation of the disk 10, an addition voltage 55 is outputted to an adding part 19 and the stylus pressure signal is increased as required to remove the stuck foreign matters. During non-stationary rotation, the addition voltage 55 is cut to produce a constant stylus pressure signal 57 to prevent the signal 57 from increasing unnecessarily. In this way, the disk and the detecting stylus may be protected to assure long service life.
